This policy explains what personal data RoundSignal ("we") collects when you use getroundsignal.com and subscribe to our newsletter, why we collect it, and your rights.
There is no signup form on this site, and there is no free mailing list. We collect your email address in one place only: the Stripe-hosted checkout page you reach from our pricing buttons, when you start a free trial or a paid plan. That same checkout also collects your name and the country and billing details Stripe needs to take the payment and calculate the tax; your card data is handled entirely by Stripe and is never transmitted to us or stored by us. We do not run third-party advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies.
We use your email address to send you the RoundSignal newsletter (a weekly digest of freshly-funded startups) — that is the product you bought, so the legal basis is performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The same basis covers the name and billing data we process to provide the subscription and take payment. We do not send you marketing for anything else, and we do not have a separate free list to add you to.
Payments are processed by Stripe, which hosts the checkout page, takes the payment and stores your card data. The sale is completed through Link, a Stripe company, which acts as merchant of record — the checkout page labels this "Sold through Link", and the charge appears on your statement as "link.com*ROUNDSIGNAL". Stripe also holds the subscriber record: your email address, name and billing data are stored on Stripe's infrastructure, and Stripe is the only third party that holds your details. We do not use a newsletter platform. The weekly issue is sent by us, directly, from our own Google Workspace mailbox (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC), so your email address is also processed by Google as our email provider. We do not upload our subscriber list to any bulk-sending or marketing tool. Transfers outside the EEA rely on appropriate safeguards (EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) as provided in Stripe's and Google's data processing terms. See Stripe's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.
We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, it is removed from active sending and deleted within a reasonable period.
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your data; object to or restrict processing; and request portability. To stop receiving the newsletter, cancel your subscription from the Stripe customer portal linked in your receipt, or simply reply to any issue and say so — a reply reaches a person, and we stop sending. You can also email hello@getroundsignal.com for any request. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
The companies featured in the newsletter are identified from public funding news and filings. We publish company-level signals and the role to contact — not databases of individuals' personal contact details.
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
